Ghanaian rapper Medikal won big at the just-ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2019.
The AMG Business act won two (2), out of his four (4) nominations. He won in the ‘Hiplife/Hip-hop Artiste of the Year’, and ‘Rapper of the Year’ categories; the latter for the remix version to his song ‘How Much’.
In the ‘Hiplife/Hip-hop Artiste of the Year’ category, he faced stiff competition from most-decorated Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, R2bees, and Kwesi Arthur. Others were Patapaa, and La Meme Gang.
The likes of Teephlow, Obibini, Sarkodie, and M.anifest also gave him a tough run in the ‘Rapper of the Year’ category.
This success follows a huge disappointment at the VGMA 2017 event which saw him win none, despite earning seven (7) nominations.
It also balls down to the hard work and perseverance of his team which is made up of the CEO Criss Waddle, General Manager Chribs Drake (@chribsdrake), Road Manager Flow Delly (@flowdelly491) and corporate manager Montana (@amg_montana491). It also includes his personal assistant Quame Zane, official disc jockey DJ Halm, artiste Attitude, as well as Unkle Beat who is his official music producer.
Grateful Medikal has since thanked everyone for supporting his music.
